From November 1-8, 2025, the Jubilee X will be held in all regions of the Russian Federation and abroad. All-Russian educational campaign "Big ethnographic dictation".

Dictation in 2025 is included in the program of events of the International Festival "Peoples of Russia and the CIS", held on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

For the first time, Dictation was conducted in 2016 on the initiative of the Ministry of National Policy of the Udmurt Republic and the active youth of Udmurtia, who, inspired by the idea of conducting a "Total Dictation" on the Russian language, decided to initiate an educational campaign on ethnographic and ethnological issues.

The Big Ethnographic Dictation is an educational project that introduces the culture of the peoples living in Russia, and also allows you to assess the overall level of ethnocultural literacy.

The Dictation assignments are prepared in the form of a test and include 30 general federal questions.

Residents of the Russian Federation and foreign countries can participate in the Dictation, regardless of age, education, social affiliation, nationality, religion and citizenship.

The Dictation tasks take 45 minutes to complete, and the maximum amount of points is 100.

The large ethnographic dictation is intended to draw the attention of the general public, authorities and the media to the problem of the quality of ethnocultural education, to assess the level of ethnographic and cultural competence of the population, with further identification of "gaps" and "ethnographic lacunae" in the total amount of humanitarian knowledge of citizens of the Russian Federation.

The purpose of the campaign is to assess the level of ethnographic literacy of citizens, their knowledge about the peoples living on the territory of the Russian Federation, and to draw the attention of the general public to the need to form effective tools for maintaining interethnic peace and harmony in a multinational country.

The tasks of the Dictation are designed in the form of a test.
The test consists of 30 questions.

The time for passing the dictation is 45 minutes.
The maximum amount of points for completing all tasks is 100.
